Okay, I'll bite...what is a Chinese Fire Drill? Inquiring minds want to know.

A Chinese Fire Drill is where, when you get to a stop light that's red, everyone hops out and runs around the car and gets back in, in time to take off when it turns green. But our school band did it around the bus, because my boyfriend had convinced our band director that he'd let everyone in the back so it wouldn't take too long. Instead he held on to the door so no one could get in, laughing his head off, and it took twice as long by the time we gave up and ran around to the front. Then, at the next light, he promised he'd let us in this time, and instead he motioned to the bus behind us to pull up real close, so we had to run around TWO buses! It was a blast. We'd won some band contest, so our director was in a really good mood.

As for the elephants, one was at a circus when I was small, and another was at a place called Lion Country Safari when two of my boys were small, so I rode with them. Later our youngest got to ride one at another circus.

I did it awhile back ... it WAS fun! I enjoyed reading your answers. Things I remember - wow, you're lucky to be so close to Disney - I'm very impressed that you HS'ed your kids K-12 - awww, I love manatees and how cool that you got to swim with/touch one!

Hello RoseZ
Thanks for dropping in, it was nice to see you.

Chinese Fire Drill was new to me as well, hopefully the other road users would know what you all were up to or would've been in for the shock of their lives lol

The only CFD I've done is when we've been in the middle of nowhere on a long trip and have changed drivers. Normally would be at a road house but sometimes out in the bush theres more than 2 hours between them (roadhouses that is) so its hop out and run round to the other side while the passenger runs the other way and hops into the driver's seat.
You have to try and time it when there isn't a road train in sight or you'd get blown away as it passes

Take care
Cathy

I love that you added the extra ones. I don't think I've seen anyone do that and I think it's great.
What a huge accomplishment: homeschooling 3 children for 13 years each. Amazing!

Thanks for your kind words on my blog tonight. I need to get out more . . .
