Published!

Saturday I got some very exciting news! I'm being published in Reader's Digest again. This is the third anecdote of mine that they have accepted, and since they say they get a quarter of a million submissions a year and only accept a few hundred, I'm pretty happy. Not to mention that they pay incredibly well, too! I'm not a Stephen King fan, but I do like his take on being a professional writer. He says that if you write something and get a check in the mail for it, that you can drive to the bank, deposit, and pay your rent with, then you are a professional writer. I don't really feel like a professional yet, but this along with some other successes I've had gives me hope that I could be someday. Thanks for letting me share my good news!

Good grief and you read MY blog? You must be a good person! Ha! Ha! Congratulations! I must tell my husband about this. He reads the reader's digest. I will tell my neighbor too. Tell us when your stories were published and we will go back and find them. THIS IS EXCITING!

I am trying to put your blog on my RSS feed and it will not go up. I think you have to do something to your dashboard in order for it to work. I will ask my husband when he gets home what it is that you have to do.

I am missing your posts because they are not in my automatic feed.

Hey Congratulations! I feel really proud! *Smiles*
I want to thank you for the lovely comment you left. I think you related to my feelings. Instead of giving up,why don't we carry on and just know that when things get a bit hairy, we always have the other for support? We can be our very own blog commenting support group! :o) Well Done Tracie! Celebrate!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. I think that is so wonderful that you are being published in the Reader's Digest and you said again. Wow. I am truly impressed. Do you know what month it will come out? I think this is so very exciting. I used to attend some writer's conferences and I totally agree with the take it to the bank deal. Yes, you are a writer. It must be a great feeling. Please come back and visit me anytime. Love ya, Trish

Great to find out to write articles. I would love to do this, but don't know where to start. I would be interested to hear more about this subject in another post maybe? Congratulations too on your success and hope for many more to come. x

Thank you all so much for celebrating with me! It's just a sort of "glowing inside" feeling to be published, as I know several of you have experienced several times yourselves! And for those of you who haven't yet, I can say from reading your writing on your blogs, it's just a matter of time. Just keep submitting, the worst they can do is say no, and they just might say yes!

Woohoo, are you still going to talk to the "little people"? I am so excited for you.

What happy news!! I never have read Reader's Digest for the articles. I always skim through and read what people have sent in. I know for sure I want to read everything you have had published (and anything else for that matter). We are celebrating with you!!!

You just keep on glowing girl friend!!!!

Hi Rosezilla ~~ Thanks for your comments. I agree imagine doing anything at 108. Olive didn't actually type her blobs as she called the. Her friend, Mike used to do it all from her stories and she was a funny lady. Take care,Love, Merle.

Congratulations! I was sent here by Cherdeor.

I sent a really funny thing that happened to me to Reader's Digest one time, it didn't make the cut, and I haven't tried since.

I did get a few things published in SpiritLed Woman back in their early days, but the pay wasn't like Reader's Digest!

I couldn't find your email address so am commenting here.

I realize from comments that that is your name in the Reader's Digest and it is indeed your joke. I showed it to my hubby and he laughed too!

You should celebrate that you got published again. Wish I were there to eat ice cream with you!
