Health Care Reform or Health Insurance Reform?

I know feelings run strong about the Health Care Reform bill that passed the House and is being debated in the Senate. Everybody has their own take on it, at least partly based on their own experiences, and that's alright. In fact, I am very interested in what you have to say about the matter. I think the best solutions come from listening to a wide variety of opinions. Not that any one is asking me to decide the solution, but I know we can all learn from each other, and I want to learn from you.

I wrote an article about what I see as a need for Health Insurance Reform for Associated Content that you can find here and after you read it, please leave a comment, either there under the article, and/or come back here and tell me what you think. Whether you agree or disagree, I would like to hear how you see the issue and why. Or, if you post about it on your own blog, please tell me here so I can come and read it. Thanks!

I've put up one more post on the subject. I expect it will the last . . . for a while at least.

Even though I am not directly affected by the Health Care Reform Bill, from my years of living in NC I know that this is a very important and heavily discussed area in the life of all Americans.
Thank you so much for you lovely comment on my yesterday post.

I believe we should have some type of universal health care but I think this is all very confusing. If we are going to have it I think it should be the same for everyone, congress included, and not have layers and loop holes.

I agree w/ Charli above.

As one of the wealthiest nations in the world, there is no justifiable reason not to have UNIVERSAL health care for all. Eliminate insurance companies, redirect resources (displaced insurance workers, for instance) into a gov't agency. Payment on a scale basis. Too poor - you don't pay. Unfortunately it'll never pass.

I look forward to reading your article Tracie. Congratulations!

Dear Tracie ~~ As I live in Australia
and not the U.S. the health system is
not relevent to me, but good luck to
you and the others trying to sort it out.
Congrats on making your right foot do the right thing. Slower and bigger circles helps a bit. Well done
my friend. Take care, Love, Merle.

Hi there! I absolutley loved the way you wrote about being the Tilt-a-Whirl in your comment on my blog. So vivid!

You wrote very well on healthcare. I would daresay that is one of the most level-headed articles I've read and does help me be more open to it. I am passionately opposed to bigger government and more control. I think we are careening into a train wreck with the direction our nation is taking. God is still in control and my hope is built on that - nothing less!

Let's just say I'm highly suspicious. Even though I believe in a Universal Healthcare System, with so many government fingers clutching at this thing today it's pretty darn scary, especially when there's so much room for abuses. Add to that the bureaucratic blarney that will be required and I can't foresee anything even remotely appealing in it's present form (whatever that is, since it's vague & nebulous).

The other piece that disturbs me is the shell game being played about how it's to be paid for.

If ever Christ-followers needed to be praying, today is that day.

Blessings,
Kathleen
