Zis and Zat

We are supposed to have a cold front soon. That means it will be in the high 80s. We'll take it. It is already cooling down. One day last week, it was 95 degrees. The next day it was 94, and the day after that is was only 93! We measure progress in beads of sweat per square inch of skin.

Hubby and I went to a musical comedy at Broadway Palms Dinner Theater. We saw "Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels." We've never seen the movie, but with Michael Caine and Steve Martin, it is probably funny. We enjoyed the stage version, for the most part. A bit naughty, but mostly just fun, and very lively. Very well acted, sung and danced. They do a good job with their casting. I also knew one of the actresses, so that's always cool. Last year, we saw "The Wizard of Oz" there and she was in it as well. And one time we saw "The Sound of Music," and one of the nuns was a friend of our son. Just adds an element of fun. One of the songs in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" was called Zis and Zat, thus my title today.

I've been going to a Bible Study for women in a nearby neighborhood. I enjoy it immensely! Such sweet, Godly women, and such solid study of the Bible. Not a book about the Bible, but the actual real live Bible itself. It is like a drink of pure water for the soul. I love God's Word, reading, learning and living it, and it is a joy to find sisters of a like mind.

I've also been doing a lot of writing, for a place online called Associated Content. A fellow blogger, Susan of Girls in White Dresses, told me about it, and I'm having a lot of fun. Not only am I honing my skills, but I'm getting paid to do it. When they accept something they pay for it, and you also get payments every time someone goes to view something you've written. If you'd like to see what I've been up to, go here to my profile page. Feel free to leave a comment so I'll know you were there!

Wow, I went to your profile page...you certainly have been writing up a storm! Wonderful you are doing what you enjoy and also getting paid for it too.

I wanted to say, re your comment on my post about wishing autumn could be the first of the year, that it IS the first of the year for the Jewish calendar! So, that also means it was always the first of the year for Jesus when he walked the dusty roads of Israel under the Roman Empire. Just an interesting thought...

I love going to the theatre! It's always a much more fun way to see a good production. I love the audience participation and the possibility of seeing true reactions... not always expected ones!
Carry on the good work with the writing! THat's really good news!

I love your weather, I sure wish we would have long summers here. They are so elusive and when the fall comes, we are not ready for them to end.;)
The place you are writing for sounds intriguing.;)

Hi Tracie!
I love that you're getting into AC. It's a fun place with lots of neat people. I'm envious of your dinner theater - I loved those. We have one about an hour away that I try to get to once or twice a year. I hear you also on enjoying just studying the Bible ... sometimes I think we can read too many books about the Bible and not just the Word itself. I've stopped reading a "Bible story" after dinner to the kids and reading the actual Bible - so far, so good - although we have only done New Testament so far.

Very cool that you are getting to use your skill this way. You have a terrific story-telling ability that I'm sure is enjoyed by all. Glad that you are enjoying your Bible study.

Ha ha. You and I have different definitions of a cold front. We've had several hard frosts already.

Congrats on finding a site that is publishing and paying you. (Not that I'm surprised.)

Hi Tracie ~~ I am glad that you are pleased with the award. You sure have been busy with your writing and the recipes. Good on you for getting paid to do what you like to do. It
doesn't get much better than that.
I know how it is at the end of the day when you just get too tired to go on. This happens when I have to close a post a bit early.
Take care, Tracie. Love, Merle.
